6 month mark!

Olá a todos!

Can you believe it, 6 months of the mission have passed! Wow! And I am loving every minute of it. :) This week was good, the other sisters had a wedding and a baptism, and we have one coming up next week, which is super exciting!! I've also been teaching the sisters some hymns and primary songs in English, its quite entertaining :) Our favorite, of course, is Called to Serve!
Yesterday we had ward conference, which was AMAZING AND WONDERFUL! We had Elder Campos, a seventy, come and speak to us in sacrament meeting. ANd Gospel Principles (sunday school) was absolutely incredible, we studied lesson 16 about Christ's Church when He was on the earth. And it was perfect, because in the lesson we taught that evening, we were able to use lots of scriptures that we had studied in the class. It helped soo much! And we had a neat experience teaching too. We talked about the Book of Mormon and Edina said "How cool! I want to read this so badly"! And her husband said that he already could tell by "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" that it would help him better understand the Bible. TRUE STORY! I love the Book of Mormon! :)
I hope you all have a lovely week!
Love,
Sister Knapp

Week of megamiracles!!

Olá!!
So this week (actually, this transfer so the past two weeks) has been so full of miracles I don't know how to write even a third of them. It feels like Heavenly Father has been reserving all the super giant mega miracles for this transfer, which is totally okay because His timing is perfect! So first of all: we have these two awesome couples who have been investigating the church for all of my time here. Heres the miracle part: Maria and Reginaldo have set the date for their wedding and baptism for May 9 and Amparo and Gilmar are going to set the date this week for probably the end of May!!!!! We've worked so hard and are so excited for this!! Especially because May 9 is the last S

aturday of the transfer! :D
Funny story of the week: we've been taking a bit of time these days to knock on doors, not very effective but we've had some results. Its funny to hear some people's reactions when we knock and they ask "Who is it?" ANd we say "Sisters!" Pretty much 99% of the time they dont understand and repeat "Who?" "Sisters!" "Who?" "Missionaries" haha Once the lady opened the door and she had understood "Bills!" and another elderly man understood "Clovers!" So basically now every time we knock on a door and they ask who it is I have to answer because my companion is laughing her head off :) haha
We also had an amazing lesson with this lady who wasnt too interested the first lesson. At the end of our second lesson (with the Spirit very stronly present) we asked her why she had invited us back. She then replied with tears in her eyes "Because you make me feel important and like I have a purpose. I havent been doing very well following Christ but He seems to be reaching out to me through you two." Wow. Its incredible to be a representative of my Lord andSavior Jesus Christ. I know He lives. I know He loves us and paid the price for our sins, we just have to do our part now and keep His commandments. But when we keep the commandments, we only gain more and more happiness! The gospel is so perfect! <3
Have a wonderful week and remember how much Heavenly Father loves you!
Muito amor,
Sister Knapp

Missão Cidade Jardim!

Oi a todos!
So transfers came and went and Im staying another transfer in my dear Cidade Jardim! I get to train again, and my companion, Sister Ferragi, is AMAZING! Shes from São Paulo and I just love her to death. We've already been seeing many miracles! One of the coolest was a family who showed up at church wanting to learn about the gospel and after the meetings they said they wanted to be baptized as soon as possible!!!! The only thing is they live in the other area so the other sisters will get to work with them.
Have a wonderful week!
Muito amor,
Sister Knapp

Conference and Easter make me happy

Oi a todos!
So I absolutely love conference weekend and I adore Easter, so this Sunday was just amazing. :) I hope that everyone had the opportunity to watch or listen to conference and if not, go to lds.org and listen to it this week! Its worth it! :) I gained a much greater appreciation for when they welcome those assisting throughout the world by satelite, because that included me and my dear friends here in Cidade Jardim! And when we all sang the hymns together I could just picture thousands of us all across the world singing praises to our loving Heavenly Father. Yeah, I love General Conference. :)
Transfers are today, I still havent heard yet if I am staying or leaving, but Im pretty sure that after 3 transfers here I might be going to a different area. We'll see next week :)
Funny story of the week: so my companion, Sister Lima da Silva, and I were taking pictures outside of the church. She said to me "Come on, Sister" Lets put our cameras here and set the timers on them and then run to the grass and sit for the picture!" Okay, sure! So we set our camera timers (for 10 seconds) set the cameras down, and then ran to the grass. The picture took and right as I thought to myself "Man, this grass sure is itchy" my companion screams and we both jumped up. We had accidentally sat on an ant hill. And it wasn't the little black ants either, it was my enemy red ants which bite very stinging bites. Soooo... Thats the story of Sister Knapp and the ants in the pants (or better said skirt). :) The lesson learned was look before you sit always. :)
Anyway, I hope you all had a marvelous Easter and conference weekend. I am so grateful to know that my Redeemer lives. I invite you all to read Moroni 7:41, because its really wonderful :)
Lots of love from Brazil,
Sister Knapp
